Religious Education
At Mont Nicolle School, we aim to provide a Religious Education curriculum that promotes the spiritual, moral and cultural development of all of our children so that they feel confident in their core knowledge of a range of worldviews. We recognise that Religious Education contributes to our children’s overall education, enabling them to investigate, reflect, discuss and debate some of life's most fundamental questions in a structured and safe space.
In Religious Education, our children learn about religions and learn from religions through a range of fun, practical and well-planned lessons. We promote the development of knowledge and understanding of both eastern religions and western religions, exploring people’s responses, beliefs, traditions, cultures, behaviours and diversity.
At Mont Nicolle School, we believe that Religious Education has an important role in preparing children for adult life, employment and life-long learning, as well as fostering respect for others whose faiths and beliefs may differ from their own. As well as offering opportunities for personal reflection and spiritual development, we will encourage children to develop their sense of identity and belonging as a citizen within their personal communities and more largely in a diverse national and global society.
